This Oceansouth hatch storage box adds an enclosed compartment within a suitable boat cavity.
About this product
The UV-treated ABS enclosure provides a recessed compartment for tools, tackle and other small boating items. Its reinforced chequered door closes against a rubber perimeter seal, with a stainless-steel clasp and locking handle securing the opening.
The box can fit an existing cavity or a new opening made to suit the external frame. Eight fixing points accept the mounting screws, which are not included. The front sits proud of the mounting surface rather than disappearing completely flush with it.
The manufacturer permits the reinforced door to support up to 120kg only in a floor-mounted installation. Its chequered face provides grip when used in that orientation; the load figure is not a general rating for an unsupported hatch or any mounting position.
The smooth enclosure can be wiped clean after use. This is the storage-box version, without the removable tackle trays supplied in other configurations. It provides the compartment as well as the access door, unlike a standalone hatch-and-frame assembly.
