This Oceansouth seat box combines a boat-seat mount with an enclosed space below. This version is 415mm.
About this product
The seat box uses the area beneath a boat seat as enclosed storage, keeping tackle, tools and boating equipment within reach without adding a separate box on the deck. Its white housing tapers gently towards the top and is moulded from UV-treated marine-grade ABS plastic for use around sun and saltwater.
A rigid hatch door closes against a 6mm rubber gasket. The stainless-steel locking handle and clasp secure the opening, while the full-width access makes the enclosed space easier to reach. The hatch projects 15mm from its mounting surface and uses eight fixing points with supplied M4 stainless-steel screws.
The 440mm × 440mm footprint has twelve deck-fastening points. Stainless-steel self-tapping screws are supplied for mounting the box, and a standard 7-inch metal swivel is included with stainless-steel bolts for the seating connection. Installation instructions are also supplied. The boat seat itself is not included.
The selected box height excludes the swivel, which adds 25mm above the housing. The supplied swivel suits Oceansouth boat seats and most other marine seating brands. An Oceansouth aluminium locking swivel and slider, or another compatible slider, can be used as an alternative arrangement; a slider is not included.
The smooth housing can be wiped clean or hosed down. This is the storage-hatch version, providing access to the space within the seat base rather than supplying a set of removable tackle trays.
