This Oceansouth access hatch provides a framed door into a boat storage space or enclosure.
About this product
The UV-treated marine-grade ABS frame and reinforced hatch door provide access to a storage space behind the mounting surface. A stainless-steel locking handle and clasp close the door against a 6mm rubber gasket, forming the manufacturer’s water-resistant barrier around the opening.
The hinged door opens through as much as 270 degrees to give clear access to the compartment. Its rigid chequered face provides a grip surface. Oceansouth lists a maximum door load of 120kg only when the hatch is mounted in a deck or floor; that rating should not be applied to an unsupported or differently mounted door.
The overall assembly measures 374mm high by 272mm wide by 40mm deep. The usable hatch opening is 290mm high by 190mm wide. Eight pre-drilled countersunk holes provide the fixing positions, but installation screws are not included.
The smooth white finish can be wiped or hosed clean after use. The hatch is intended for boats, yachts and suitable recreational-vehicle or caravan installations. It supplies the access door and frame, rather than a complete enclosed storage box, so the space behind the opening is formed by the installation.
