A water pickup must be considered as part of the complete livewell supply arrangement. The pickup, valve, hose, tank inlet and overflow need to work together, and the mounting position affects how water is presented to the fitting. A high-speed description does not establish a suitable location or flow rate for every hull. Have the installation position assessed for the particular boat before making or enlarging an opening.

Match the stated thread to the receiving valve or fitting. Nominal thread size does not specify the required hull cut-out, the usable thread engagement or the available clearance inside the boat. Confirm those details against the actual components and the manufacturer's installation guidance. Leave room to operate the valve and inspect the connection after installation.
