A push-operated cabin light keeps the control at the light itself, which is useful when a separate wall switch would be awkward to reach or install. This fitting provides a simple interior lighting option for a boat cabin, with an appearance suited to an integrated fit-out. The lens is part of the switching arrangement, so the installation position should allow comfortable access as well as useful illumination. Choose the mounting version and physical size around the cabin lining, available depth and the way the area is used.

Choosing and using this product

Place the light where the lens can be reached without stretching over a berth, table or other obstacle. Check the intended location from normal sitting and standing positions, including how the light will fall on the nearby surfaces. A flush version requires enough clear space behind the lining, while a surface version projects into the cabin; neither should interfere with doors, hatches or stored gear. Use the actual fitting to confirm the mounting opening and fastener positions before cutting. This product is for interior use and is not weatherproof, so do not place it in an exposed cockpit or where it will receive washdown water. Route and support the wiring behind the fitting without allowing it to be pinched during installation. Match the supply voltage and provide appropriate circuit protection even though the on/off function is built into the lens. Test the push action after the light is secured, ensuring that the mounting does not prevent normal movement of the lens.
