A dual-colour cabin light provides a white mode for ordinary tasks and a red mode for a different night-time lighting environment. This stainless fitting is useful where both functions are wanted in one position rather than as two separate lamps. Its light-colour selection and switching arrangement should be considered together, because versions in the range differ in whether the control is on the housing. Choose the physical format around the cabin layout and the need to reach the switch without disturbing the helm or berth area.

Choosing and using this product

Plan where each colour will be useful before deciding on the location. White light is helpful for handling equipment and reading ordinary labels, while red light can be selected when a less intrusive colour is preferred at night. Red illumination can change the appearance of coloured markings, so use appropriate white task lighting when accurate colour recognition matters. Position the light to minimise direct glare and reflections towards the helm. Check the stated switching arrangement carefully; a version requiring a separate three-position switch needs that control and wiring included in the installation plan. Match the supply voltage and follow the wiring instructions rather than guessing the colour-selection connections. Keep cable joins supported and accessible behind the fitting, and use the actual light to establish mounting dimensions. The stainless finish is not evidence of an unspecified waterproof rating. After fitting, test both colours and every switch position, then assess the result from the normal operating and seating positions in darkness.
