White epoxy-coated alloy wedges for adjusting the outboard mounting angle.

Outboard mounting wedges alter the angle between a compatible motor mounting face and the transom, providing a defined change in the installation geometry.

Choosing and using this product

Choose the wedge angle from the boat and motor installation requirements rather than assuming that more angle will improve performance. Measure the mounting area and check the wedge outline against the motor bracket and bolt pattern. The pair must sit on appropriate supported surfaces without interfering with steering, trim or tilt components.

An angle change affects the motor’s available trim range, so have the proposed installation assessed by someone familiar with the hull and engine. Confirm fastener length, thread engagement and backing requirements with the installer. Do not reuse a bolt that becomes too short after adding the wedges, and do not compensate with an improvised stack of loose spacers.

Support the engine correctly before loosening any mounting bolts. Follow the engine and boat installation instructions for sealing holes, tightening fasteners and checking alignment. These wedges do not repair a weakened transom or provide permission to exceed the boat’s engine rating. Any existing movement or damage must be resolved before the motor is refitted.

After installation, check full movement with the boat stationary, then evaluate handling cautiously in suitable conditions. Recheck the mounting fasteners at the recommended interval and inspect for movement or coating damage around the contact faces. Keep a record of the fitted angle so future servicing or motor replacement takes the altered mounting geometry into account.

Keep the product identification with the boat’s maintenance records and check the installation after the first use. If the intended arrangement differs from the supplied instructions, resolve the compatibility question before putting the equipment into service.
