Fuel-resistant polyethylene funnel with large non-splash rim, built-in mesh filter and flexible filler extension.

Choosing and using this product

The orange polyethylene body includes the mesh filter, rim guard and flexible extension in one funnel assembly.

Check that the flexible extension can reach the intended filler without being kinked or forced into place. Position the funnel so it is supported securely before pouring. A large rim helps contain splashes, but the rate of pouring must still suit the receiving opening and the flow through the mesh filter.

Inspect the funnel and filter for dirt or damage before each use. Keep equipment used for fuel separate from drinking-water equipment, and do not use an unclean funnel to transfer fresh fuel. The built-in mesh catches larger contamination but should not be treated as a substitute for the engine's specified fuel filtration system.

Refuel only with the engine stopped and ignition sources controlled. Follow the boat and fuel container instructions, work in a ventilated area and keep suitable spill-control materials within reach. Avoid balancing an open fuel container where a sudden movement could knock it against the funnel.

Pour steadily and monitor the receiving tank level throughout the transfer. Do not leave the job unattended or fill beyond the tank manufacturer's limit. Pause if the liquid backs up in the funnel; check the flow path rather than increasing the pouring rate or shaking the assembly.

Allow residual liquid to drain safely before moving the funnel. Clean and store it in a way that prevents dust and grit entering the bowl, filter or extension. Deal with contaminated cloths and any spilled fuel through appropriate waste arrangements. Check the flexible section periodically for cracks or deterioration, and replace damaged equipment rather than trying to contain a leak during refuelling.
