12mm In-Line Water Pressure Check Valve. This compact in-line water check valve is made from non-corrosive plastic and has 12mm barbed hose connections. It is intended to prevent back surge up to 100 PSI in water-pressure pump installations. It can also be used where a valve is required with a pump that does not self-prime. Its overall size is 110 x 50mm, giving a useful starting point for checking the available installation space. The correct flow orientation remains essential for the valve to perform its one-way function.

Choosing and using this product

Check the pump manufacturer's requirements before adding a check valve to an existing pressure system. Confirm the fluid, connection size and operating conditions, then identify the permitted flow direction on the valve. Arrange the hoses with adequate engagement over the barbs and enough clearance to avoid sharp bends. Select clamps for the installed hose diameter and support the run so the valve is not carrying an unsupported hose load. The stated back-surge figure should not be treated as a complete pressure rating for every other part of the installation. Check the pump, hoses, fittings and joints as a system. After fitting, operate the pump and inspect for leakage, unexpected restriction and the intended behaviour when the pump stops. If priming remains unreliable, check the wider suction arrangement rather than relying on the valve alone. Leave the valve accessible for inspection and replacement. Before disconnecting it, isolate the pump and relieve water-system pressure safely. Recheck flow direction whenever the line is reassembled. Include the valve and nearby hose joints in routine maintenance, especially after pump replacement or changes to the water plumbing.
