Choosing and using this product

Identify the ladder before ordering a replacement component. Similar-looking boarding ladders can use different tube profiles, hinge layouts and fixing arrangements, so the part name alone is not enough to confirm a match. Compare the existing component, the ladder model and the listed application before dismantling anything. Keep the original part available for reference until the replacement has been checked.

A ladder is a complete boarding assembly, and replacing one component should include an inspection of the surrounding structure. Look for worn attachment points, damaged steps, loose fastenings or movement where the ladder meets the boat. If damage extends beyond the replaceable item, have the whole assembly assessed before putting it back into use.

Fit the component using the ladder maker’s instructions and the correct fastenings or retainers for that arrangement. Do not force a near-fitting part into position or modify a load-bearing area merely to make it fit. Check the ladder through its full folding or deployment movement, ensuring that the new component does not bind against adjacent tubes or obstruct the intended stowed position.

Before boarding use, confirm that all relevant parts are properly engaged and that the ladder remains secure in its intended mounting position. Inspect the repair again after the first use. Regular rinsing and removal of salt or grit help keep moving and contact areas clean, while a simple pre-departure check can reveal a missing clip or damaged end piece before it becomes inconvenient. Keep the product code with the boat’s maintenance records to simplify identification if the same replacement is needed again. Order the quantity shown for this individual item rather than assuming a complete ladder is included.
