Choose two-stroke oil by the engine maker’s required performance specification, then check the lubrication method for the particular engine. A similar bottle colour or a familiar brand name is not enough to establish suitability. Compare the engine handbook, the container label and any current service advice before filling. Keep two-stroke oil clearly identified and separate from crankcase and gear lubricants in the workshop.
