The Bluefin Mako M12 IFM is a cobalt blue underwater light with a through-hull bronze housing and an interchangeable LED cartridge. IFM stands for Interchangeable Flush Mount: the arrangement allows the lighting cartridge to be serviced from inside the hull, an important distinction when considering future access and maintenance. The fitting has an aluminium internal cartridge sleeve and a low external profile. It is intended for mounting below the waterline on the transom, side or underside of the hull. This exact product is the 12V single-colour version, with an integral driver, rather than a universally interchangeable voltage variant. On steel or aluminium hulls, the specified Delrin isolation kit is required.

Choosing and using this product

A through-hull light needs careful planning because the installation involves both the hull opening and access to the rear of the fitting. Check the hull thickness, internal working space, cable route and the clearance needed to withdraw the cartridge before choosing the position. Have the complete installation assessed by a competent marine installer, and follow the supplied manual for fastening, sealing, electrical protection and service procedures. The ability to remove a cartridge does not remove the need to follow the manufacturer’s safe servicing instructions. Match the light to the intended power supply and include the correct control components when planning a group of lights. Keep the service area accessible after surrounding equipment or cabinetry is installed. Where the hull is metal, include the listed isolation component from the start rather than attempting to substitute an unspecified spacer. Confirm the installation is sealed and every lighting mode works before returning the boat to service.
