The RWB641 is a black UV-stabilised nylon insert for finishing the open end of a rod-holder tube. It creates a protective contact surface between the rod and the tube edge and is suitable for rocket-launcher racks. This version is sized for 2-inch imperial tube with a 50.8mm outside diameter and a maximum 1.5mm wall thickness.

Choosing and using this product

Measure the tube outside diameter and wall thickness before ordering. The outside diameter is not the opening size inside the tube. Two tubes that look similar can have different internal clearances because of their wall thickness, and the 50mm metric and 50.8mm imperial versions are not simply colour choices. Select the dimensional match first, then the finish that suits the installation.

The black imperial insert is specified for the thinner-wall 2-inch tube. Do not substitute one of the 50mm metric inserts solely because its colour suits the rack. The supplier describes the insert range for aluminium or stainless-steel rod-holder tubes; compare the actual tube and insert before permanent fitting.

Inspect the tube end for burrs, sharp edges or distortion before fitting an insert. Have rough edges safely finished and clean out metal filings or grit. Seat the insert evenly without forcing it over an incompatible tube. Test the intended rod handle afterwards to ensure it enters and withdraws smoothly and does not catch on the lip.

During routine cleaning, rinse salt and bait residue from the insert and check for splitting, abrasion or loosening. A new insert protects the contact edge but does not repair a damaged tube or an insecure rack. Check the rack attachments separately and replace worn inserts before they leave an exposed edge against the rod.
