A remotely aimed searchlight lets the operator change the beam direction without walking to the light housing. This model uses a handheld RF controller, which is useful when the best operating position changes between the helm, cockpit and other parts of the boat. Its directional movement makes it a searchlight rather than a fixed area light, and the housing needs a clear working envelope as it turns. Plan the mounting position around the view you want to illuminate as well as the space occupied by the base.

Choosing and using this product

Before mounting, check the full movement of the light head against rails, windscreens, antennas and covers. A position that looks clear when the light faces forward may still obstruct it at the limits of its travel. Consider reflections from the foredeck or windscreen, because a bright reflected beam can make it harder for the operator to see ahead. Provide a stable mounting surface, protected cable entry and correctly fused supply in accordance with the installation instructions. The controller’s quoted range is a maximum under suitable conditions and should not be taken as guaranteed through every cabin structure or obstruction. Keep the remote accessible in its normal operating position and test all movement and switching functions after installation. Use the beam selectively around other vessels and people, and do not rely on a searchlight as a substitute for normal lookout or required navigation lighting. Check movement clearance again when a canopy, tender or other deck equipment is changed.
