Marine-Flex 32mm Smooth Bore Bilge Hose per Metre. Marine-Flex is an Australian-made black spiral-reinforced hose with a smooth internal bore. It is intended for suction lines, bilge pump discharge and toilet installations, giving a practical option where a flexible hose run is needed around marine equipment. The spiral reinforcement supports the hose construction while the smooth bore avoids the corrugated internal surface found in some other hose designs. This hose is expressly unsuitable for fuel or drinking-water service, so its intended application needs to be established before considering the connection size.

Choosing and using this product

Match the internal diameter to the hose tails at both ends and check the complete route before choosing a quantity. Allow for bends, clearance around nearby equipment and access to the clamps after installation. Flexibility is useful in confined spaces, but a hose should not be forced into a kink or made to pull sideways on a fitting. Lay out the run first and support it where necessary so that its weight is not carried by the pump or valve connection. Select clamps for the outside diameter of the hose once it is fitted over the hose tail, rather than using the bore measurement as the clamp diameter. Keep sanitation and bilge plumbing appropriately separated from drinking-water equipment. After fitting, test the relevant system and check the connections for leakage and movement. During servicing, inspect the hose along its full accessible length, including points where it passes through structure. Measure cut-length requirements carefully, including the amount engaged over each hose tail. Reel and per-metre options are different supply quantities; check the selected option before ordering. Cut lengths cannot be returned, so confirm the bore and required length before the hose is cut.
