Plastimo Contest 130 Replacement Sun Cover for Marine Sailboat Compasses SP656

Plastimo Contest 130 Replacement Sun Cover for Marine Sailboat Compasses

The Plastimo Contest 130 replacement sun cover is the separately available cover for the Contest 130 sailing compass family. It is a useful replacement when the cover originally supplied with the compass has been lost or damaged. The catalogue identifies this part specifically as the replacement sun cover for the 130 model, allowing you to restore the compass’s normal covered arrangement without buying another complete instrument. It is shown as a light-coloured, shaped cover in the accessory illustrations. The listing concerns the removable cover itself; the compass, its mounting bracket and other service parts are separate products.

Choosing and using this product

Confirm that your instrument is a Plastimo Contest 130 before ordering. The Contest name appears on several compass sizes, and the correct model is more important than a similar appearance or colour. The Contest 130 family in the catalogue includes black and white bodies, red and black cards, and bulkhead- or bracket-mounted configurations. Its replacement cover is listed once for that family. When checking a replacement, compare the existing compass face and surrounding housing with the intended cover rather than using the apparent card diameter as the cover’s external measurement. Inspect the compass and remaining cover before deciding which part needs replacing. If the problem concerns the compass bowl, mounting bracket, lighting or compensation, a sun cover will not replace those components. For use, fit and remove the cover according to the compass instructions, keeping it somewhere convenient while the instrument is being read. Before getting underway, ensure that the card is fully visible and the helm area is clear. Retain the supplier reference with your boat maintenance information so the correct spare can be identified again without confusing it with a cover for a smaller Contest model.
