This cockpit light provides a compact fitting for local illumination around the boat rather than a large overhead floodlight. Choosing and using this product

Check the intended mounting location from both standing and seated positions. The useful result comes from lighting the working surface or access route, so avoid a position that places the bright lens directly in the helmsman’s line of sight. For recessed fittings, inspect the cavity behind the surface for wiring, structure and other services before marking an opening. Overall dimensions are not a cut-out template; confirm the opening with the actual fitting and its instructions. For surface-mounted versions, check that the body will not be hit by doors, cushions or stored equipment. Route the wiring so the connection is supported and protected from spray, and take care not to trap wires under the mounting gasket or fasteners. Select a suitable separate switch and protected circuit for the boat’s supply. Where the source specifies only a sealed construction, do not infer a higher ingress rating or underwater suitability. Test the light after installation and review the illumination from the normal helm position.
