Choosing and using this product

Try the intended mounting position with a chart or notebook laid out as it would be used. Check that the arm can reach the important area without crossing instruments, obscuring a view or interfering with the movement of a seat or locker lid. Allow room to operate the switch and to adjust the arm comfortably while seated. White task lighting can reflect from glossy chart covers and screens, so aim it towards the work and away from the helmsman’s line of sight. This product is described as a chart light; no exterior waterproof rating is specified, so use it in a suitable protected position. Plan a secure base mounting, supported wiring and appropriate circuit protection before connecting the supply. The supplied base wiring is a connection lead, not a complete boat wiring system. After fitting, test the light at the working position and check that moving the arm does not pull on the electrical connection or allow it to strike surrounding fittings.
