Rail-Mount Outboard Motor Pad - 25mm Rails | Marine Equipment & Boat Supplies

Two-piece white polypropylene pad with stainless steel bolts and nyloc nuts. Fits vertical or horizontal rails and includes two safety-lanyard holes. Intended for a suitable rail-mounted motor storage arrangement; verify rail support before loading.

A dedicated retaining fitting helps keep loose equipment organised and close to hand, reducing the need to search beneath seats or inside crowded lockers.

Choosing and using this product

Measure the rail diameter and check that the selected horizontal or vertical rail is suitable for supporting the motor. This pad is designed around a 25mm rail, so a similar-looking tube with a different outside diameter should not be assumed to fit. Check the strength of the rail and its attachments before putting an outboard on it.

Position the two halves around the rail with the motor removed. Use the supplied stainless steel bolts and nyloc nuts as directed, checking that the pad seats evenly without pinching nearby lines. Leave room for the outboard clamps to engage the pad properly and for hands to reach them when fitting or removing the motor.

The stated motor limit is 8HP for a two-stroke engine. Check the actual motor and mounting arrangement rather than treating this as a general rating for every engine type. Use the small additional holes for an appropriate safety-lanyard arrangement, keeping the motor secured while it is stored. This rail pad should not be assumed to be a transom bracket for operating an engine.

Inspect the polypropylene pad, rail and fasteners before each use and after transport. Look for movement, cracking or distortion, and have an uncertain support arrangement assessed before loading it. Keep the motor clear of walkways and make sure its stored position does not obstruct access to safety equipment or boarding points. Rinse salt from the assembly and recheck the fastening security during routine maintenance.
