The RWB1979 is a straight-shaft flush-mount rod holder made from 316-grade stainless steel. A slimline rolled head provides the mounting surface, while a stainless gimbal pin passes through the shaft. The straight 90-degree shaft makes it relevant both as a rod holder and as the optional mounting holder specified for compatible Manta folding bait stations. It is supplied individually, with two required for those station installations. Select this straight version when vertical alignment is needed; the separate angled version in the range has a different shaft geometry.
Choosing and using this product
Check the depth and structure below the gunwale or deck before cutting. Allow for the 215mm holder length and access to the fastening points, and look for cables or hoses behind the proposed position. Compare the actual flange and hole layout with any existing cut-out before deciding this is a direct replacement. When mounting a bait station, use the station's required leg spacing and check usable insertion depth around the gimbal pin. A nominal 40mm bore alone does not establish every aspect of fit, particularly on an existing installation with unusual deck angles.
Use an appropriate backing, fastening and sealing method for the mounting surface, and keep the holder correctly aligned while securing it. Check that a rod butt or compatible station leg seats properly before use. Rinse the interior and rolled head after exposure to salt water, remove trapped debris and inspect the fastenings and gimbal pin regularly. For rods carried underway, consider a separate restraint appropriate to the trip.
