    ### Stainless Steel Marine Cigarette Power Socket - 12V, 10A

Stamped 304 stainless steel cigarette lighter socket with PVC cap, terminals and wiring leads for compatible marine appliances.

### Choosing and using this product

This socket provides a fixed power point for compatible 12V marine accessories fitted with cigarette lighter plugs. Possible applications include a portable spotlight or utility light, where being able to connect and remove the appliance is more convenient than permanent wiring. The stainless steel body gives a metal finish that can sit alongside other stainless fittings on a boat.

Choose the mounting position around the equipment you expect to use. At a helm or near a working area, allow room for the inserted plug, its cable bend and access to the PVC cap. Check the space behind the mounting surface for the body, leads and supported electrical connections before making any holes. A convenient location should also keep temporary cables away from controls and walkways.

As general wiring guidance, isolate the supply, confirm polarity and use appropriate circuit protection. Match the cable and connections to the intended load, taking account of the complete circuit rather than the socket alone. The 10A maximum is an important selection limit when comparing appliances, particularly if several accessories may be used at different times.

The included terminals and wiring leads form part of the connection arrangement, so inspect how these will join the boat wiring before installation. Keep the joints supported and accessible for later servicing. Once fitted, check that the plug seats properly and the connected appliance operates as intended.

During use, arrange the appliance lead so it cannot pull the plug sideways. Close the cap after removing equipment and inspect the socket regularly for dirt, moisture or loosened connections. Disconnect by holding the plug body and keep spare appliance leads clean when stored between trips.

For portable lighting, consider where the operator will stand so the lead reaches comfortably without becoming a trip hazard.
