    ### Slimline 316 Stainless Steel Marine Rod Holder, 30 Degree Shaft and 40mm Bore

The RWB1972 is a 316-grade stainless-steel rod holder with a rolled slimline head for flush mounting. Its angled shaft is set at 30 degrees, with a stainless-steel gimbal pin through the shaft to locate a compatible rod butt. The compact head and specified 45mm cut-out make this a useful model to assess when space across the gunwale is limited.

### Choosing and using this product

Before cutting the gunwale or deck, check the full space below the proposed position. An angled shaft needs clearance along its complete length, not just immediately beneath the head. Check for wiring, hoses, flotation material and structural members, and confirm that the rod can be removed without striking a canopy or rail. Trial-position the actual holder and rod to establish a useful direction.

Use the published head and cut-out measurements to assess the available area, then confirm the final hole shape and fastening pattern against the fitting itself. An existing hole that is close in size is not automatically a suitable replacement location. Select fasteners, backing and any bedding method appropriate to the boat material, taking care not to distort the head when tightening.

Check the rod butt diameter and its gimbal arrangement before use. The shaft bore, opening in the boat and head footprint are different measurements and should not be interchanged. Make sure the handle can seat correctly and be lifted out without catching. Rinse away salt and bait residue after use, inspect the shaft and attachment points regularly, and keep protective liners or caps clean and free of damage.

Choose this angled version when the rod position calls for a 30-degree shaft. The related RWB1979 is the straight-shaft option; a similar-looking head does not mean the two place the rod in the same direction.
