    ### Rubber Boat Oar Stops with Locating Lugs - 41mm Bore, Pair for Dinghy Oars

Solid rubber oar stops with locating lugs.

### Choosing and using this product

Measure the oar shaft at the position where the stop is intended to sit, rather than at the handle or blade. Shaft diameter can vary along an oar, and a nominal overall oar size does not always identify the correct stop. Compare that measurement with the stated inside diameter before ordering.

Oar stops help locate the oars relative to the rowlocks, so their position should be considered as part of the complete rowing setup. Check the existing stop arrangement, the rowlock opening and the comfortable inboard handle length. If replacing a worn pair, note the original position before removal, then confirm that it still suits the boat and the person rowing.

Inspect both oars and both rowlocks at the same time. A replacement stop should not be used to conceal damage to the shaft or to compensate for an unsuitable rowlock. Look for splitting, deformation, sharp edges or excessive wear in the areas where the components meet. Resolve those issues before returning the equipment to use.

Fit the stops using an appropriate method for the oar and the replacement part. Avoid cutting, stretching or otherwise modifying them without suitable guidance. Check that each stop is seated securely and that the oar can move through its intended stroke without binding. In sheltered water, confirm that the inboard handle positions remain comfortable and that the stops hold their positions during normal rowing.

After use, rinse away sand and salt and inspect the rubber for deterioration or movement. Keep the pair together when maintaining the oars, and record the bore size with the boat’s equipment list so the next replacement can be selected accurately.
