    ### Multiflex Planetary Gear Steering Kit - 9ft (2.74m)

Build a mechanical steering installation around the specified Multiflex helm and SC16 cable. This kit combines the helm, fast-connect steering cable and 90-degree black bezel, with the cable length defining the particular variant.

This version is specified as 9ft (2.74m). Use these exact details when comparing the available options for your installation.

Match the selected gear mechanism to the intended steering system, then check the actual cable route. The cable must reach through the installation with the required bends and engine connection; the direct distance between helm and engine is not the ordering length.

For replacement-cable measurement, the published method uses the coloured conduit length in centimetres, adds 56 cm, divides by 30.5 and rounds up to the next whole foot. Confirm that method against the current instructions and the cable being replaced before placing an order.

For a new installation, the route and mounting method matter. The measurement method allows for bends and distinguishes tilt-tube installation from splashwell or transom support mounting. Check those details before selecting the supplied length, and allow room behind the dashboard for the helm and cable connection.

For the new-cable route calculation, add the measured route sections and subtract 10 cm for each 90-degree bend. A through-tilt-tube installation adds 30.5 cm before conversion to feet; a splashwell or transom-support installation uses the corresponding route calculation. Round up to the next whole foot only after applying the appropriate method.

The nominal 9-foot length corresponds to 2.7432 metres. Measure the full routed path and identify the connection type before selecting this length; extra cable length does not compensate for an incompatible end fitting.

The planetary mechanism shares the engine torque across three satellite gears around the central gear. This load-sharing arrangement distinguishes it from the rotary design.
