    ### Mini White Marine LED Courtesy Light, 12V Nylon Surface Mount, 45 x 20mm

This small courtesy light is useful when a full-size cabin fitting would be too bulky for the intended location. It provides a simple point of white illumination for an onboard detail, step or other nearby area, with a compact housing that can be worked into an existing layout. The sealed unit is designed to resist splashes and weather exposure, but its rating should not be confused with a specification for continuous underwater operation. Its straightforward surface-mounted form is best assessed alongside the intended cable entry and the position of the separate switch.

### Choosing and using this product

Before fitting, look at the proposed position from the normal approach to the area. A courtesy light is most helpful when it reveals the surface or obstacle rather than shining directly into someone’s eyes. Check that doors, locker lids and loose equipment will not strike the fitting, and leave enough access to secure the mounting and inspect the cable. Match the supply voltage to the light rather than assuming that all small LED fittings accept either common boat voltage. Plan the switching location so the light can be turned on before entering the dark area, or connect it to an appropriate existing courtesy-light circuit after checking that circuit’s capacity and protection. Protect the attached wiring from chafing and keep joins away from exposed wet locations. Where several lights are used, lay out their positions together to avoid bright spots and gaps. Check the result in darkness before finalising the arrangement, especially if the area is visible from the helm.
