A stainless dome light provides a familiar overhead fitting with local switching for a boat cabin. Its polished surround can be matched to existing interior hardware, while the complete housing offers a straightforward replacement option when the mounting dimensions suit. Consider the light’s footprint and the way its lens distributes illumination across the cabin, rather than judging it only by the size of the visible surround. A switched fitting is particularly useful when the light is within reach of a berth, table or other regularly used interior area.

### Choosing and using this product

Check the available mounting surface and the position of the switch before choosing the final location. The switch should be easy to reach, while the lens should illuminate the intended area without being obscured by a shelf or cupboard. If replacing an older light, compare the base diameter and cable entry rather than assuming that a similar-looking dome will cover the existing fixing holes.
