Lalizas Professional Heavy Duty Sea Anchor - 2m Diameter
Manage drift with the Lalizas Professional Heavy Duty Sea Anchor - 2m diameter. This Lalizas professional drogue is designed for larger boats and harsher conditions. It works in the water to slow the boat and help control its orientation in wind and waves, rather than relying on a seabed anchoring point.
This variant has a diameter of 2m and a suggested boat-length guide of up to 14m (45ft). Its body length is 1.65m, with 1.5m straps. Those measurements identify the selected model and help you compare its deployed size with the storage and handling requirements aboard.
Drift control that packs away between trips
The construction uses 200D polyester fabric coated on both sides with 0.45mm PVC and reinforced with 40mm webbing. It is supplied in safety yellow, with a tough PVC storage bag. The drogue folds flat after use, allowing it to be packed into the bag for stowage.
Sea anchors can be useful for reducing drift while fishing offshore or when resting in water too deep for a normal anchor. They are intended to influence drift and boat orientation; they do not secure the boat to a fixed point on the bottom. Assess the conditions and the intended use when deciding whether this type of equipment is appropriate.
The recommended rope length is five times the boat length. Boat-size recommendations are general guides for average conditions, not a complete selection rule. Consider the boat’s type and weight, keel weight, the prevailing conditions and the way the sea anchor will be used before choosing a size.
A swivel is not included. Plan the rope and connection arrangement separately, checking that the selected equipment is appropriate for this drogue and the boat. The supplied storage bag helps keep the folded sea anchor together between uses.
