Gunwhale Overcentre Tie Down 50mm x 4.5m
Choose the gunwhale overcentre tie down - 50mm x 4.5m for a over-boat restraint arrangement that matches its dimensions and end fittings. It is supplied individually for the stated across-boat application.
The overcentre buckle provides the stated tensioning arrangement. Check the strap reach and buckle position against the boat and trailer before selecting it.
This Australian-made strap uses 50mm black webbing over a 15ft (4.5m) length, with overcentre buckles and two PVC-coated hooks. It is listed for medium boats.
The stated lashing capacity is 250kg. This is a restraint rating, not a lifting capacity or the total weight of boat that can automatically be secured. Match the full restraint arrangement and attachment points to the task; do not double this figure simply because the straps are supplied as a pair.
Choosing and using this product
Review whether this product supplies one strap, a pair or a replacement component. A strap-only listing may require the matching mechanism or mounting hardware separately. Count the number of restraints needed for the complete arrangement before ordering.
After use, store the item so the webbing and mechanism remain accessible for inspection. Retain the stated dimensions and model reference for replacement enquiries, especially where several different straps are used on the same trailer.
Measure the actual route between attachment points and allow for the operating arrangement specified by the product. Check that hooks or loops can engage the intended fittings without being forced into an unsuitable position.
Follow the equipment instructions for tensioning, securing and inspection. Keep the webbing clear of unsuitable contact points and inspect the end connections along with the strap. A rating for one component does not establish the capacity of the complete arrangement.
