    ### GME MT610G Emergency Personal Locator Beacon

Keep a compact personal distress beacon available with the Australian-made GME MT610G. Its 72-channel GPS receiver, high-intensity LEDs and buoyant design are features of this personal locator beacon. A PLB is not a substitute for a 406 MHz EPIRB, so choose the equipment type as well as the physical size.

The MT610G is designed as a compact GPS solution for an individual, including outdoor adventurers and lone workers. Its IP68 ingress protection and inherently buoyant construction are separate physical features. Buoyancy does not remove the need to follow the specified deployment position and antenna instructions when using the beacon.

The model uses zero warm-up technology, a non-hazardous battery pack and high-intensity LEDs. Its stated seven-year battery life concerns the battery service interval, not continuous distress-transmission duration. Check the replacement date marked on the actual beacon. The six-year manufacturer warranty is subject to its terms and should be considered separately from the battery-life figure.

Cospas-Sarsat Class 2 certification and a 121.5 MHz homing transmitter are specified. These identify the emergency-signalling equipment but do not promise rescue within a set period. Follow the testing and preparation instructions so the distinction between routine testing and emergency activation is understood before the unit is needed.

The standard package includes the personal locator beacon, safety lanyard, instruction manual and quick-start guide. Compare its personal-carry format with the mounting and deployment arrangements of a vessel EPIRB before selecting the type of equipment required.
