Folding Grapnel Anchor Kit - 2.5kg
Bring the main anchoring components together with this 2.5kg folding grapnel anchor kit. It combines a hot-dipped galvanised anchor with silver rope, galvanised chain and two galvanised shackles. The packaged combination makes it easier to compare a complete set of components for your boat when planning the whole anchoring arrangement.
The grapnel anchor folds after use and includes a locking collar. This compact anchor style is used for canoes, kayaks, inflatable boats and jet skis where the selected size is appropriate. Folding the anchor reduces the space its arms occupy during stowage.
The main components in one anchoring package
The rope supplied is 8mm x 30m, spliced with a stainless steel thimble. The chain section is 6mm x 2m, and the kit includes 2 x 8mm galvanised shackles. These are the actual component sizes for this product code, so check each one when comparing this kit with another anchor package or with existing equipment.
The thimble gives the rope termination a defined eye, while the chain and shackles provide the adjoining components of the anchoring arrangement. Having these components together is useful when setting up or replacing a package, but the connection points and available stowage space should still be checked against the boat.
Choose the anchor size for the intended craft, use and conditions. The compact folding form is a storage advantage, not a substitute for selecting an appropriate anchor and checking the complete arrangement.
The stated nominal anchor weight describes the galvanised anchor itself, not the weight of the complete package. Rope, chain, shackles and the thimble add to the kit’s total mass. Review the component list below when planning both the anchoring setup and how the kit will be handled and stored aboard.
