Chain Rainbow Marker - White - 8mm - Pack of 10
Make the amount of anchor chain deployed easier to recognise with Chain Rainbow clip-in markers. The plastic inserts fit snugly into the chain links and are designed to preserve normal chain handling and anchor-winch operation. Choose a colour to form part of your own chain-length marking pattern.
This pack contains 10 white markers for 8mm chain. Use the white inserts for the intervals you choose in your marking system; the colour does not represent a preset distance.
Make your chain-length markings easier to recognise
A consistent colour sequence helps turn individual chain markers into a useful visual reference. Plan the intervals first, then record what each colour or group means on your boat. Keeping the same sequence makes it easier for another person aboard to understand how much chain has been deployed.
The stated pack quantity lets you calculate how many packs are needed for the chosen pattern. Check a small group in the actual chain before fitting the full set. Inspect the markers as the chain is retrieved and replace missing pieces so the sequence stays clear. Keeping spare matching colours aboard can simplify maintenance of an established marking system.
Selection details
These markers suit most chain types in the stated size, rather than every possible link shape. Check the fit in your chain before marking the full length. Keep the colour sequence consistent so it remains useful when setting or retrieving the anchor.
Choose a marking pattern that can be explained clearly to everyone who handles the anchor. Record the intervals with the anchoring equipment rather than relying on memory alone. The marker colour is chosen by you, so the same colour may represent a different distance on another boat or within another established marking pattern.
