Brass Fixed-Eye Snap Hook - Size number: 1
Use a solid brass snap hook with a stainless steel spring and fixed top eye. This simple combination provides a brass fitting with a spring-operated opening and a fixed attachment point.
The selected model combines a 4.5 mm D dimension with a 73 mm L measurement and a 30 mm W dimension. These measurements identify this size within the range.
Convenient access to a removable connection
A snap fitting is useful where the connection needs to be opened and closed without dismantling the surrounding assembly. The particular eye, body and opening mechanism determine how it will be handled in use. Check that the operating part remains accessible in the final position, especially where the fitting sits close to another component.
Compare the opening clearance with the part that must pass through it, then check the space inside the eye or body once connected. Allow room for swivel movement where the selected model includes that feature. During routine checks, inspect the spring or release action and the contact surfaces together. Use the dimensions and any stated working-load guidance for the exact fitting being ordered.
Selection details
Check the size number alongside the actual dimensions. The eye, opening and overall length all affect how the hook will fit into an assembly. A size number is a range identifier, rather than a measurement or load rating.
The opening action affects how comfortably the fitting can be handled in its intended position. Check whether the selected model uses a spring gate, trigger bolt, scissor action or pull-release mechanism, then allow room to operate it. Choose the eye style to suit the adjoining line or hardware and the movement required in the connection.
