Match the roller to the bow arrangement
Bow roller selection involves the available mounting area as well as the path of the anchor and rode. Compare the listed overall length and base measurements with the bow layout, allowing for nearby fittings. Where a replacement roller or pin is listed, identify the parent assembly before ordering the component.
Selection and fitting
Check clearance throughout the intended movement and confirm that the mounting arrangement suits the boat. A roller helps guide the equipment but should not be assumed to provide every securing function required by the installation. Follow the applicable anchor-system instructions when arranging retention and stowage. Keep the roller path clear, check for free movement where appropriate, and inspect pins, fixings and surrounding mounting surfaces during regular maintenance.
Use the stated measurements to compare this version with the item being replaced. Overall dimensions, fixing centres and working clearances can describe different parts of a fitting, so check each relevant measurement separately. A quick comparison with the existing installation helps you choose the appropriate size before committing to new holes or changes to surrounding hardware.
For a refit, take measurements before removing the existing item and retain a note of its position and orientation. This gives you a useful reference when checking the replacement and helps keep related fittings aligned throughout the job.
