Shurflo 1/2in Twist-On Pump Filter with Swivel Nut. This Shurflo twist-on filter is an inlet-side strainer for compatible pumps with a 1/2-inch threaded inlet. It has a transparent housing that screws apart for cleaning and a 50-mesh stainless steel screen. The pump connection is 1/2-inch female, while the supply-side connection varies by model as listed below. The range excludes old Extreme 5.7 plug-in pumps. Checking that distinction prevents a threaded filter being chosen for a pump that uses a different inlet connection style.

### Choosing and using this product

Identify the pump model and inspect its inlet before selecting the filter. Confirm the thread and choose the supply-side connection that matches the existing hose or fitting. Allow enough clearance around the filter to unscrew the housing for cleaning after installation. When connecting it to the pump, follow the manufacturer's instructions and avoid placing strain on the inlet through unsupported or misaligned plumbing. A swivel-nut version has a different connection arrangement from the fixed-thread options, so use the exact model details rather than selecting by appearance alone. After fitting, operate the pump and check the housing, pump joint and inlet connection for leaks. Verify that water flow and pump operation remain normal. Before cleaning, isolate the pump and relieve pressure safely. Remove debris from the screen and inspect the housing and sealing surfaces before reassembly. A mesh strainer protects against particles; it is not a drinking-water purification treatment. Keep the transparent housing visible for inspection and recheck it after tank cleaning, hose replacement or other work that could introduce debris into the inlet line.
