    ### Plastimo Iris 100 Marine Handbearing Compass Blue Unlit Bracket RWB8006

Light grey Iris 100 with a blue accent and pistol-grip handle. Use it as a bracket-mounted steering compass or release it to take handheld bearings. The floating body has a shock-protective rubber casing. The Iris 100 combines a removable handbearing instrument with a bracket-mounted steering compass. This makes the exact lighting and colour option important when selecting a unit for a new position or matching an existing installation. The pistol-grip format, quick-release bracket and supplied storage pouch support the different ways the compass can be handled aboard.

### Choosing and using this product

Decide where the compass will normally be used as a steering instrument and where you will stand when taking hand bearings. Check that the proposed bracket position permits a clear view of the card and enough room to grip, release and return the compass without interference from nearby fittings. The mounting flexibility is helpful when choosing a position, but the installation still needs to follow the manufacturer's directions and avoid nearby sources of magnetic interference. Trial the viewing position before drilling or fastening the bracket. Check the model's lighting option when choosing between otherwise similar colour variants; a matching housing colour does not identify whether lighting is included. Keep the lanyard arranged so it remains useful without catching on controls or rigging. Practise releasing and refitting the compass before using it afloat, and keep the padded pouch available when the unit is being stored or transported. If you intend to move one compass between several mounting positions, confirm the correct additional bracket separately. Inspect the bracket, fixings and rubber casing periodically, and use the manufacturer's operating and care instructions for the complete assembly.
