    ### TREM Telescopic Boat Hook with Aluminium Head - for Marine Mooring Tasks

Anodised aluminium telescopic boat hook with reinforced alloy head and plastic caps on both points. Easy-grip sections are fitted at the end and upper shaft.

### Choosing and using this product

Choose a boat hook by the reach needed from a safe working position on deck. Consider the distance to the mooring line or buoy and how much room is available to handle the pole without striking nearby fittings. Extra length can improve reach, but it also needs enough storage space and controlled handling around other people aboard.

For a telescopic model, check both the shortest and longest lengths against the intended stowage and working positions. Familiarise yourself with the adjustment and locking method before approaching a berth. For a fixed-length model, plan a securing position that keeps the hook accessible without projecting into a walkway or interfering with the boat’s controls.

Use the hook to bring a line or reachable object within comfortable handling distance. Keep a balanced stance and avoid stretching over the side to gain the last few centimetres. A boat hook is not a lifting appliance, a mooring attachment or a substitute for controlling the boat’s movement with appropriate seamanship. Keep hands clear of trapping points between the boat and a berth.

Inspect the head, shaft and grip before use. Where the design includes protective tips or caps, check that they are present and in good condition before contacting a surface. Avoid using a damaged tip against painted or polished areas. After use, rinse away salt and sand, then check moving sections for free operation and secure locking.

Stow the hook so the head cannot snag lines and the shaft cannot slide loose during travel. Keep its product code with the boat’s maintenance information, especially when replacement heads or tips are available, as visually similar components may have different fitting sizes.
