    ### Dinghy Fender Strip Outer Belt - White, 30m - for Marine Gunwale Protection

UV-resistant plastic outer belt screws to the gunwale and accepts a separately sold round insert.

### Choosing and using this product

This is one component of a two-piece dinghy buffer-strip arrangement. Check whether the job requires the outer belt, the round insert or both before ordering. The two parts are sold separately, and colour selection for an insert does not change which outer-belt profile it needs to fit.

Measure the full route along the gunwale and allow for the way the installation will start and finish. Inspect corners, joins and existing fixing positions before cutting material. For replacement work, compare the old profile with the dimensions below; a similar-looking strip can have a different lip, depth or insert opening. Keep a small sample of the old material where practical for a direct comparison.

The outer belt is the fixing component, while the round insert is pushed through its centre. Plan the installation sequence accordingly so fixing access is available when needed. Choose the fastening arrangement to suit the boat’s construction and make sure the gunwale is sound before fitting new material. Avoid stretching a strip simply to make it reach, as this can affect the finished fit.

Work along the gunwale in a controlled sequence and check alignment frequently, particularly where the hull shape changes. Before trimming the final ends, confirm that the material is properly seated and that the overall run is neat. Refer any uncertain installation detail to a marine repairer familiar with the boat.

After installation, inspect the strip for loose sections, exposed fastenings or areas that could catch a line. Include it in routine checks after docking or transport. Cleaning away trapped dirt and checking the attachment points will help you notice damage early and identify which component needs attention.
