    ### Manta Compact Open-Top Ladder - Angled Legs - for Marine Boarding Access

New Zealand-made Manta folding ladder in electro-polished, heavy-gauge 316 stainless steel. Features non-slip dimpled treads, plastic end inserts and a positive folding retaining clip.

### Choosing and using this product

Start by measuring the boarding position with the boat in its normal afloat condition. The useful reach depends on the distance from the mounting point to the water, the hull shape and where the lowest step will sit. Compare the open dimensions with that location, then allow separate space for folding or stowing the ladder without obstructing nearby fittings.

Check that the chosen mounting arrangement matches the boat. A transom, platform and yacht toe rail present different fixing requirements, and the presence of a suitable-looking surface does not establish that it can support boarding loads. Have the mounting area, backing support and fastening choice assessed before installation. Keep the route onto the deck clear enough for hands and feet throughout the climb.

When comparing models, consider how the user will reach the first step and transfer from the ladder onto the boat. Step count alone does not describe boarding comfort; overall length, available handholds and hull clearance also matter. Confirm that the ladder can be deployed when needed and that its stored position does not interfere with steering, an outboard or access to the cockpit.

Before each outing, inspect the steps, joints, retaining parts and mountings for looseness, damage or wear. Keep contact areas clean and follow the ladder’s own instructions for deployment and use. Rinse away salt and sand after use, allow the ladder to dry where practical and secure it properly for travel. A retaining clip or folding feature helps with storage only when it is correctly engaged. Take time to check the complete boarding arrangement before relying on it away from shore.
